What the Tracker Is

Tracker is a public Canton party inspector. Search for any party by name from the party-labels directory, or paste a party-id directly to inspect balances, activity, validators, featured apps, and ANS names. No login required. Think of it as a read-only view of what Scan makes public: CC balances and CC transfers, plus how long a party has been active. Other activity on Canton is private to the parties involved, so it does not appear here.

Searching for a Party

The Tracker search works two ways: By name - Start typing a project, validator, app, or ANS name. The search surfaces results from the party-labels directory, sorted by match relevance:
  • Projects and featured apps show their logo and category label
  • Validators display a “Validator” tag
  • ANS names appear with an “ANS” label
  • Each result shows the short address for quick verification
By party-id - Paste or type a full party-id (format: hint::fingerprint) directly into the search box. Press Enter or click Inspect to jump straight to the detail page. No suggestions dropdown appears for party-ids. Use arrow keys to navigate suggestions, Enter to select, or Escape to close the dropdown.

What You See

When you inspect a party, the Tracker displays:

Identity & Balance

  • Party name (if registered) and full party-id
  • Current balance in CC and USD equivalent
  • Badges:
    • Stale indicator (shows cache age if data is older than live)
    • Persona badges (e.g., Validator, Featured App)
    • Active since date and days on network

30-Day Balance Chart

A line chart showing balance history over the last 30 days, with CC and USD values on hover. If less than 2 days of history exist, the chart does not display.

Balance Breakdown

Four stats at a glance:
  • Unlocked CC
  • Locked CC
  • Estimated rewards (30-day projection)
  • Hosted on (validator or infrastructure provider)

Activity Stats (Last 30 Days)

A summary of on-chain movement:
  • Total number of transfers
  • Volume received (in CC)
  • Volume sent (in CC)
  • Number of unique counterparties

Recent Activity

The 10 most recent transfers to or from this party. Each row shows:
  • Direction (sent/received, indicated by a red up-arrow or green down-arrow)
  • Counterparty address (clickable link to inspect them)
  • Amount transferred
  • Timestamp
Click any counterparty address to inspect them in the Tracker.

Top Counterparties

The parties this wallet exchanged with most in the last 30 days, ranked by frequency and volume:
  • Number of transfers with each party
  • Total CC exchanged
  • Click to jump to that party’s detail page

Linked Project

If the inspected party is a Canton project (validator, featured app, or ecosystem member), a card displays:
  • Project logo and name
  • Link to view the full project details in the Ecosystem

Recent Lookups

All successful inspections are saved locally in your browser under a “Recent lookups” card on the main Tracker page:
  • Stored only in browser localStorage - not on your CCTools account
  • Shows up to 8 most recent parties
  • Click to jump back to a previous inspection
  • Clear all history with the “Clear” button
This is browser-side convenience history only, similar to an explorer’s bookmark list. Each browser and device keeps its own list.

Tips for Effective Browsing

  • Search tips: The search requires at least 2 characters. Full party-ids (containing ::) skip the name lookup and go straight to the detail page.
  • Navigation: Use the back button to return to the main Tracker page. Recent lookups let you jump between multiple inspections without re-searching.
  • Activity context: All stats reset to zeros if no activity occurred in the 30-day window. Recent transfers may show a counterparty of “network” if it was a direct mint or burn.
  • Stale data: Balance data refreshes on a cache schedule. The Stale badge on the identity card shows you how old the cached balance is.
