Joining the Discord

The CCTools Discord server is open to all community members. Use this invite link to join: https://discord.gg/Pm2YpafyxP You can also access this link at cctools.network/discord for a short, shareable URL.

Verification: The Emoji Challenge

When you first join, complete the emoji-pick captcha to earn the Verified role. This is a quick human check similar to signup defense on the main site:
  • Run the /verify command (or click the persistent Verify button in the welcome channel)
  • A challenge appears with four emoji buttons and a prompt naming your target (e.g., “Click the Apple”)
  • Click the correct emoji button
  • You earn the Verified role within seconds
The challenge expires in 5 minutes. If it times out, simply run /verify again. This proves you are human and unlocks access to the full community.

Linking Your CCTools Account

Verified members can optionally link their Discord account to sync XP and platform activity:
  • Run the /link command (or click the persistent Link Account button)
  • You will see a link to the CCTools OAuth connect page
  • Make sure you are logged into cctools.network in your browser first
  • Click the link and authorize Discord access
  • Your Discord identity connects to your CCTools account within ~1 minute
One CCTools account can link to one Discord account. To swap Discord accounts, first unlink the current one from your Profile > Connections page on CCTools, then run /link again with the new Discord account.

Discord Engagement: Earning XP Through Chat

Members who are verified and linked earn Discord engagement XP for their participation in chat. This is a separate engagement track from your main platform XP:
  • Messages - Each message you send earns engagement XP (with a per-user cooldown and daily cap)
  • Reactions received - When others react to your messages, you earn engagement XP
  • Replies received - Replies to your messages also grant engagement XP
Chat activity is tracked continuously. The engagement you earn is capped at 300 XP per day to prevent farming.

Checking Your Engagement Rank

Use the /rank command to see your engagement progress:
  • /rank - View the global leaderboard of top 10 members by engagement XP
  • /rank @user - View a specific member’s engagement level, message count, progress to the next level, and badges earned
The leaderboard is public (not ephemeral), so everyone can see where members stand. Your rank displays:
  • Level - Your engagement level (calculated from cumulative engagement XP)
  • Messages - Total messages you have sent in the server
  • Progress - Visual progress bar toward your next engagement level
  • Badges - Milestone badges you have earned

Discord Roles & Platform Levels

Your Discord roles automatically mirror your platform level on CCTools and update as you advance:
  • Level 1-4: Newcomer
  • Level 5-9: Explorer
  • Level 10-14: Analyst
  • Level 15-19: Strategist
  • Level 20-24: Operator
  • Level 25-29: Architect
  • Level 30-34: Validator
  • Level 35-39: Governor
  • Level 40-44: Syndicate
  • Level 45-50: Canton OG
Roles sync when you link your account and update automatically as you earn XP on the platform.

Badges & Platform XP

Discord engagement milestones unlock badges that grant a small amount of platform XP (on cctools.network):
  • Active Badge (Engagement Level 5) - Small platform XP reward
  • Regular Badge (Engagement Level 10) - Larger platform XP reward
  • Veteran Badge (Engagement Level 15) - Even larger reward
  • Champion Badge (Engagement Level 25) - The rarest badge with the highest reward
These badges are earned one time only as you hit each engagement milestone. Because the badge set is finite, the total platform XP you can earn from Discord engagement is capped at 300 XP. This design prevents farming chat activity from climbing the main platform leaderboard. Instead, Discord engagement is a meaningful way to recognize active community members with a small, one-time bonus.
