Notification Categories

CCTools sends notifications for several distinct events:
  • Portfolio alert - Balance moves and stalled rewards on the wallets you track
  • New content - New projects, Earn opportunities, and Learn paths published on CCTools
  • Campaign update - When an Earn campaign you marked interest in is updated. Sent to everyone who marked interest, whatever the Earn preference says
  • New governance proposal - When a new Super Validator proposal opens, and when one is approved or rejected
  • Badge earned - When you unlock a new badge
  • Referral completed - When a referred user confirms their referral
  • Announcement - Platform-wide messages from the CCTools team, always delivered in-app
  • Canton News - Curated articles about Canton Network. Pro only, and off by default
  • Community - Forum announcements and governance posts. Pro only, and off by default
  • API access - The status of your public API application, always delivered in-app
Decisions on your submissions (project, opportunity, or post approved / rejected / needs changes) and account security events (password reset, 2FA login code, account lock) are not part of this system. They are sent as separate direct emails, never appear in the bell dropdown, and have no toggle.

In-App vs Email

Every notification appears in the bell dropdown in the top bar. Settings > Notifications controls that bell. Most categories are in-app only. The only ones that can produce an email are portfolio alerts and referral completed, and that email is a Pro feature: free accounts never receive it, whatever the stored email preference says. API access replies are the exception. They answer something you submitted, so they go to every applicant, free accounts included. The Settings page currently exposes only the in-app column. When emails do go out, the delivery job runs every 10 minutes and sends one email per notification, not a combined digest. Security-sensitive emails (password reset, 2FA login code, account lock) are always sent and cannot be disabled.

Turning Things Off

Settings > Notifications has six toggles: Ecosystem updates, Governance alerts, Learn paths, Earn & Campaigns, Canton News and Community. Canton News, Community and Earn & Campaigns are marked Pro, and their toggles are disabled on a free account. Portfolio alerts, badge earned, referral completed, announcements and API access replies have no toggle at all, so they cannot be muted. The Unsubscribe link at the bottom of a notification email opens the Account tab of your settings. The per-category toggles are one tab over, on Settings > Notifications. There is no one-click per-category unsubscribe.
